You're doing too much

What's worse, you're doing too much of the wrong things because your focus is misdirected.

While your brain is telling you to focus on external circumstances, you're missing what your body is telling you. Screaming at you.

So let this email be your sign to STOP.

Take a deep breath in through your nose for 5 seconds. Hold your breath for 7 seconds. Then slowly exhale through your mouth for 9 seconds or until it feels like you've deflated your belly and chest.

Notice how your torso softened. Your shoulders dropped.

Now take another deep breath in through your nose for 5 seconds. Hold your breath for 7 seconds. Then slowly exhale through your mouth for 9 seconds.

Notice how the surface feels beneath you. What it feels like to be supported. Roll your neck in a circle counterclockwise, noticing whether your neck feels stiff or tight.

Breathe deeply into your belly through your nose again and this time, close your eyes and do a scan of your body as you slowly exhale. Where are you holding tension? Do any parts of your body feel achy, itchy, tight, heavy, or even tingly?

Resist the urge to make any physical sensations mean anything. Simply notice them and acknowledge them as you continue to breathe deeply into your belly and slowly exhale.

Notice how your body has softened. Notice what's available to you now.

That's enough for right now.

I'll be popping back in your inbox again soon. Exactly when doesn't matter. For now, just revel in a quiet moment in your body and out of your head.

Breathe easy,

Rosanna

As long as my parents and pets were okay I wouldn't care about the physical place. Partly because I'd wanted...

Hello! Yesterday you received an empty email from me that, quite ironically, had a subject line of "Is this it?" with nothing but a link to unsubscribe or update your profile. While I did indeed draft an actual email to you, I have no idea where it went or what happened. So if you're reading this now, thank you for not unsubscribing and showing me a bit of grace. I appreciate you. Below is the message I meant to send you. I see more and more posts on social media about attachment styles now,...
